Image of the Los Angeles City with ashes swirling and forming into a camera with a shining light radiating from the camera lens. Inspiring.

Creativity doesn’t have to die in disaster—it can thrive.

At Ashes to Films, we believe that we are not defined by what we’ve lost—but by what we create in the aftermath.

Born out of personal experience and built by a community of artists, ATF is a nonprofit film fund and festival supporting filmmakers, storytellers, and young creatives affected by wildfires and other natural disasters. When the world moves on, we step in—not with just aid, but with opportunity.

Our mission is to help fire-affected filmmakers reclaim their voice through:

  • Funding for short films, documentaries, music videos, and experimental work
  • Mentorship and support to bring ideas to life
  • Young Filmmakers program to empower the next generation
  • And a festival in Los Angeles that will showcase powerful projects in January 2026

With your help, we can fund them, uplift them, and create a cultural moment that reminds the world what art can do after loss.

This is more than recovery.

This is a movement.

Join us—because storytelling heals. And because the city of dreams deserves to dream again.

So inspired by tonight's gathering for Ashes to Films. Heard it said by many tonight: LA is the only city in the US by and for creatives. Let's use this moment after the fires and strikes to turn things around. Excited to support.

I planned on using this money to make a short film and now I'm using it to build Ashes To Films.

I support this project, for the monetary relief and emotional healing it will bring to those affected by the LA fires, let alone inspiration of what's to come from the artists and film community involved.

We know that this is a very important project that will benefit the entire film community and are excited to look forward to the release of the films!
